Islam and the Environment

The E-Da`wah Committee presents this video which shows the position of Islamregarding Environment. The concept of the environment in Islam is a comprehensive one, as it includes the whole universe that Almighty Allah has created and put in the service of man.
Islam orders to preserve this trust and do the effort to make better of it. Allah (glory be to Him) stated in the Qur’an that man is His successor on the earth. Allah says,
“And (remember) as your Lord said to the Angels, “Surely I am making in the earth a successor.” (Al-Baqarah 2:30)
The Qur’an prohibits a Muslim to cause corruption in the earth, Almighty Allah says,
“And seek not corruption in the earth. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters.” (Al-Qasas 28:77)
The Prophet (peace be upon him) is reported to have said: “There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him.” (Al-Bukhari)
